I am a little late with this, but Madeleine L'Engle passed away on Sept 6th. I think there are a lot of people that would agree with me when I say that she is my favorite author. Her writing has a way of entertaining while putting totally new ideas and thoughts into my head, and at the same time taking all the vague thoughts floating around in my brain and putting them down on paper. Below are a couple of articles about her and about her death. The passing of anyone that has had an influence on you, even someone you have never met, is always a loss. She wrote so many books, essays, poems, etc in so many genres, if you haven't ever read anything by her, I encourage you to give one of her works a try.
We are having a boy!! We are super excited, but not too surprised, we were pretty sure it was a boy from the beginning. Even better news, everything in the ultrasound looked healthy. It is so awesome to see our baby moving around on the screen. So far I have been blessed with a fairly normal and easy pregnancy and now that I am past the half way point I feel like we are in the home stretch. I have enjoyed the pregnancy for the most part so far, and I hope I can keep enjoying it as I get huger and huger! We have started the massive project of re-organizing our house so that we have room for this new little guy and all his accessories. I think one big thing that I have learned from this pregnancy, as I do some research and talk to other moms, is that there are no absolutes when it comes to pregnancy and childbirth. I know I have probably made statements in the past about pregnancy that start with "I would never" or "I would definitely," but I am taking all that back right now. I think there are lots of different "right" ways to go about this whole process, and I think you just have to make the decision that seems right for your family at the time.
I can't believe it is September already, the last few months have FLOWN by. I have lots of fun things planned this month, showers to throw and attend and at least one IKEA shopping trip!
It is nice to start the month with a three day weekend, hopefully I can fit in a few naps this weekend. For me, one of the most unexpected side effects of pregnancy is how exhausted I am most of the time. I don't know why it surprised me to be this tired, but for some reason it caught me off guard. I hope everyone has a fun labor day weekend!
